When the Ram Mandir was inaugurated recently, a few media outlets claimed that tensions would arise between the community.
The West often tries to be politically correct and give suggestions to other nations when anything happens. We often see Western nations raising concerns about the alleged attacks on minorities in India. When the Ram Mandir was inaugurated recently, a few media outlets claimed that tensions would arise between the community.
The West which tries to react to issues in other countries has its fair share of issues. The gun violence is growing day by day and the racial bias is also seeing an uptick at regular intervals.
One such shocking news came out from the United Kingdom. An Indian lady was subjected to discrimination in the appointments. Not happy with this, she moved a tribunal. She tasted a big win as the Tribunal ordered the University to pay as much as £450,000 as a penalty.
Going into details, an Indian lady named Kajal Sharma is a professor at Portsmouth University. She worked in the position for five years. After the tenure was completed she was not reappointed. Her application was also rejected without any reason.
The line manager at the university, Prof Gary Rees did not appoint her in the position and there was no valid reason for doing this. Having faced a shock with this, Kajal Sharma moved a Southampton employment tribunal.
Media reports say that the Tribunal found there was no valid reason behind Kajal Sharma not getting appointed except for Racial discrimination. With this, the University was advised to pay a fine.
It is known that the United Kingdom has an Indian-origin person as the Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak is the serving PM of the nation making him the first Indian-origin and Hindu to take up the position. Despite this, an Indian lady was subjected to discrimination which is a shock.
