The IT employees are on a spree of facing back-to-back blows. The IT companies hired employees in big numbers when the Covid fear was at its peak. But things turned upside down when Covid fear started reducing. IT companies are slowly reducing the workforce.
For the past few months, we have been seeing big companies and tech giants sacking their employees. At regular intervals, the companies are removing employees. The employees are in big fear of what would happen with their future as there is no job guarantee. Even employees who worked for a long time were also not retained. This was the case with the employees.
As if that was not enough, the IT employees are said to have faced another big blow. Experts believe that many IT giants did not hire new employees in the first trimester in the financial year. On top of this, the freshers are also being sacked citing various reasons.
While this is the case with the employees who lost their jobs, the case is different with employees who are retained. Their increments were stopped and work pressure increased. Instead of replacing the vacant places, the employers are reportedly increasing the work pressure. Besides postponing the hikes, the salaries were also slashed in some cases.
The market condition and fears about possible recession are said to be the reasons for the employers to sack the employees and make the work force crisp. Companies irrespective of their sizes are removing employees as part of cost-cutting.
We can understand the situation as big giants like Google, Microsoft are also going for sackings. Looking at the developments we can say that IT employees are in fear thinking what would happen with them.
