Who Is 26/11 Accused Tahawwur Rana? Why US Deported Him To India?

The highly infamous 26/11 Mumbai attacks is still one of the most significant terrorist attack attacks done against the country. It will forever be remembered as one of the worst days in the history of the democratic nation of India.

In this context, something interesting has happened as the government of India has gotten ahold of this one Tahawwur Rana who got deported from the United States back to India.
Tahawwur Hussain Rana is a Pakistani-born Canadian national and former military doctor who became known globally due to his alleged involvement in international terrorism. He moved to Canada and later to the United States, where he ran an immigration consultancy firm called First World Immigration Services.
Rana’s name surfaced during investigations into the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, which were orchestrated by the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba and resulted in the deaths of 166 people.
Though Rana himself never visited India, he allegedly facilitated Headley’s visits by helping him pose as a business representative, thereby providing cover for his covert surveillance operations.
This support has led Indian authorities to believe that Rana played a critical role in enabling the attacks, even if indirectly. While a U.S. court convicted him in 2011 for plotting a separate terror attack in Denmark, it acquitted him of charges related to Mumbai. However, in 2023, the U.S. approved his extradition to India, where he faces charges including criminal conspiracy and murder related to the 26/11 attacks.
The government of India now has this cruel terrorist in its grasp as he awaits legal consequences for his inhumane actions.
