We are seeing this trend flourishing in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of the upcoming elections. Leaders are changing the equations by joining other parties.
The ruling YSRCP in the state is seeing this trend more as the legislators are leaving the party. Sitting Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy also did the same. Earlier last month he announced his resignation speaking to the media saying that he cannot continue in the party.
His announcement started a debate about his next move with the reports saying that he would take the TDP route. Adding fuel to this he met a few party leaders.
Now the MP formally announced that he and his son would join the TDP. Adding further he said that the TDP chief would decide the date of his joining and he and his son will join the party on the date.
Magunta said that he asked Chandrababu Naidu to give his son a chance in the next elections as the MP instead of him and the party said yes to this.
Magunta Srinivasula Reddy invited the TDP leaders in the Ongole Parliament segment to his home for a small party. After the interaction with them, Magunta announced that he would join the TDP soon and the date would be fixed soon.
It is said that Magunta wanted his son to get an MP ticket so that he could take a back step and rest. He is already 70 years old. His family is into business and is famous.
