No Relief For Dependents In Domestic H1B Visa Renewals?

America is a land of opportunities and living up to the expectations people from various countries land in the United States as they get more opportunities. To give an example of how people see the United States, the percentage of immigrants who come to the country is growing gradually.

Recently, the United States came up with a piece of good news for immigrants as far as visa renewals are concerned. The US administration said that the domestic visa renewal program will be started as a pilot project.

The main objective of the program is that a few categories of Visa holders need not go to their home nations to renew their visas. With this, they can save a lot of time and money, and the process is done in the US things would be easy.

Earlier, the U.S. State Department said that the new proposal would be started as a pilot project and 20,000 visas would be renewed. However, there is no clarity on what would be the selection process for the first candidates.

But there is a catch here. As per the information, only the H1B employees can renew their visas, and not their spouses or dependents. While the visas would be renewed in December, January, and February initially the slots would be increased in 2024.

The media reports say that the authorities started the idea as a pilot project and only the work visas would be given the preference. Dependants are said to be excluded from this as th main focus is on work visas.
