A cat named Kroshik was recently rescued from a hospital basement in Perm, Russia, where he weighed an astonishing 17 kilograms. This heavy weight made it impossible for him to walk. After his rescue, Kroshik was taken to Matroskin Shelter, where he is now on a strict diet and undergoing rehabilitation to help him regain his mobility.

Kroshik's name means "Crumbs" in English, which reflects his love for snacks. Unfortunately, he was fed an unhealthy diet by hospital workers, including bread crackers, soup, whiskey, and meat. This excessive feeding led to his extreme weight gain, and when he was found, he was so overweight that veterinarians could not perform an ultrasound because the sensor could not reach through his layers of fat. The shelter described his condition as "an extremely rare case" on social media.

Since being taken to the shelter, Kroshik has started a rehabilitation program that includes physical therapy and a controlled diet. The shelter is hopeful that with time and care, he will be able to walk again. A recent video showed Kroshik making progress by walking on a water treadmill, which is part of his recovery plan.

Kroshik's story highlights the importance of responsible pet ownership and the dangers of overfeeding. As he continues his journey to better health, the shelter is committed to helping him lose weight and regain his strength. With the right support, Kroshik has a chance to live a healthier and happier life.
