TDP has many senior leaders who have been with the party through thick and thin. They even served as Ministers and held other positions. Having such experienced and senior leaders is an advantage to the party as they can help groom the next generation of leaders.

However, the same seniors appear to have become baggage for the party. There is a reason for this. The party did not give a chance in the first two lists. With this, many felt that the seniors might get a chance in the third list. But they did not get a relief in the new list either. Sitting MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary was also not given a chance in the first list and luck shined for him in the second list.

The TDP announced the third candidates list and a few seniors did not feature in it. This started a debate on whether the seniors became baggage for the party and the leadership wants to move away from it.

The likes of Kalavenkata Rao, Devineni Uma, Satyanarayana, K.S. Jawahar, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and Kimidi Mrunalini have been a part of the TDP for a very long time and have long ties.

Despite this, the seniors did not get a chance. The only chance they have is the fourth list. Moreover, there is no clarity on whether they will get a chance in the next list or not.

There is a big doubt on whether the seniors would not get a ticket as only they were left while others managed to get tickets. Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy, Kolla Lalitha, and Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao managed to get the tickets in the third list. Now all eyes are on the next list.

It is said that TDP is considering various aspects in selecting the candidates and surveys are said to be the main parameter for this. We have to see what the TDP would do with seniors.
