India which has the image of the mother of democracy went for the much-awaited elections. The Lok Sabha elections were held in a phased manner and the last phase was conducted on the 1st of this month. The results will be out tomorrow and the exit poll surveys are out already.

Ahead of the big day, the Election Commission held a press conference and the officials made some key comments. The election body highlighted the numbers recorded in elections and how a record number of voters cast their votes.

As per the election commission, as many as 64.2 crore people voted in seven phases of Lok Sabha. The body said that for the first time in the world, women voted in massive numbers which is the highest.

The Election Commission said 31.2 crore women voted in the elections while 64.2 crore voters cast their votes in total. CEC Rajiv Kumar said that this is the world record in the world as this is more votes than G7nations-USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Canada, and Italy

It is said that this is the first time the EC held a press conference after the polling. In the press conference the EC highlighted the key aspects of the polling like the record numbers and the arrangements that were made for the polling.

The polling was held in seven phases covering all the states. Around one and a half crore personnel and security personnel took part in election duty across the polling booths. Thousands of teams examined the process and special trains were also brought.

Holding polling for the most populated country is not that easy. But EC pulled off the polling. Barring a few incidents everything had gone smoothly. All eyes are on the voting tomorrow.
