n a spine-chilling incident, a six-year-old girl fell prey to a leopard on the pedestrian path to the holy shrine of Tirumala from Alipiri. The unfortunate incident happened on Friday. The victim was dragged into the forest by the big cat and her body was found after a search operation.

The incident raised many questions about the safety of the devotees who go to the temple on the way. Such incidents are not new and a few incidents were reported already. Many ask why no safety measures were not taken despite multiple incidents.

Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, who recently assumed the post of TTD chairman visited the spot from where the kid was dragged by the Leopard and examined the measures there. He said that safety measures would be taken to see that no such incidents take place.

TTD swung into action after the incident and focused on safety measures. A high-level meeting was called and a few issues were also discussed.

Talking about the safety measures, it is said that TTD is going to set up CCTVs on the walk path and security would be beefed up. Security will be increased and directives might also be given to two-wheelers to not halt the vehicles on the ghat road in the prescribed time.

Going into details, the victim is identified as Lakshita who is from Kovur. She was on her way to the holy shrine along with her father Dinesh Kumar and mother Sashikala. It is said that she was attacked by a leopard.
