According to the latest flash reports from the White House, Donald Trump has been diagnosed with “chronic venous insufficiency” after reporting swelling in his legs and ankles.
The White House media correspondent Karoline Leavitt also reported that Trump’s widely noticed bruising on hand is “caused by handshaking”and taking aspirin for the condition.
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a condition where blood doesn't efficiently return from the legs to the heart, often due to damaged valves in the veins. This can lead to a range of symptoms, including swelling, pain, and skin changes, and in severe cases, ulcers. While not usually life-threatening, CVI can significantly impact quality of life.
Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency; however, no heart-related issues have been detected, following reports of minor swelling in the President's legs, as per Karoline Leavitt.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump recently underwent testing to investigate the swelling, including diagnostic vascular studies and an ultrasound of his legs which revealed he has chronic venous insufficiency. The condition, which affects about 1 in 20 adults, is the result of blood not efficiently returning from the legs to the heart
