Under general circumstances, the green card is regarded as the most powerful residential option provided to Indians and other immigrants in the United States of America. Back in the day, securing a green card would mean a permanent shift to the United States and this was desired by many Indians.
However, after the onset of the new Donald Trump administration in the United States, things are starting to change rather quickly, and several doubts are being raised about the prominence of the green card as well.
It must be noted that the vice president of the United States JD Vance had also commented that having a green card does not necessarily mean a permanent residence option. He added that there could be a few logical and legal recourse regarding the same.
Now it is being communicated that the United States immigration authorities have been intimated to go extra hard on all forms of visa workers. It is being communicated that even green card holders will have to undergo rigourous checking and questioning process upon their arrival in the United States from now on.
Apparently, the immigration and visa department will continue to raise more questions for green card holders, H-1B, and F1 Visa holders if they travel abroad and return to the United States. It is reported that enhanced security arrangements are being put in place, even for permanent residence of the country(immigrant population).
On top of that Donald Trump is reportedly, contemplating the idea of imposing a ban on 43 countries from entering the United States. He is also likely to enhance the immigrant policy security choices. Things are not looking very promising for the Indian population in the United States under the Trump administration.
