Ukraine Hints India May Hold Key to Peace!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asserted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds significant influence in potentially ending the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In an interview with an Indian media outlet, Zelensky emphasized Modi's global reputation and suggested that peace talks could be effectively hosted in India. He urged that if India were to reduce its imports of cheap Russian energy, it could significantly challenge Russia's aggressive stance.

Zelensky highlighted the urgency of negotiations, particularly with the upcoming Second World Peace Conference scheduled for November. He mentioned Ukraine's recent peace summit in Switzerland, which saw participation from representatives of 92 countries, excluding Russia. The Ukrainian leader stressed that dialogue is essential amid the ongoing war and that India could play a crucial role in facilitating discussions.

Expressing concern over the potential for increased military support to Russia if former U.S. President Donald Trump were to regain power, Zelensky warned that such developments could lead to intensified attacks on Ukraine. He called for immediate discussions on a "Victory Plan" to address these threats while clarifying that Ukraine is not seeking immediate NATO membership but merely an invitation to join.

Over recent months, Zelensky has consistently sought military aid from Western nations as Russia escalates its attacks using advanced weaponry. U.S. President Joe Biden has pledged to supply additional air defense systems to bolster Ukraine's defenses. Amidst this backdrop, Zelensky remains wary of the implications of the U.S. elections on international support for Ukraine, particularly if Trump were to win and shift U.S. policy towards Russia.
