Election Fever In Telangana: Stats Of NRI Voters?
According to the information, the NRI voters now stand at 2,780 which is quite high compared to a few years back.
The election siren for the poll-bound state Telangana was rang by the poll body Election Commission recently. The elections will be held next month. The election fever had gripped the state already with the parties getting busy focusing on the winning strategies. The price list of the expenditure for the election campaign was also issued by the election body.
As the elections will be held in one and a half months, the focus now went on to the NRI voters who will cast their votes in the elections. Compared to a few years back the NRI voter count increased largely. If we draw a comparison between the first election and the upcoming election the count increased.
According to the information, the NRI voters now stand at 2,780 which is quite high compared to a few years back. In 2014, there were just 5 NRI voters in the state while the count is now heading towards the 3k mark.
Malkajgiri has the highest number of NRI voters with 206. However, the way the NRI voters use their vote rights is different from how the other voters cast their votes. They will have a special list and they can use their vote right by simply showing their passports.
Many might wonder how the number is very low as thousands of people go abroad every year. But the catch is that those who are settled in other nations cannot use this facility if they have obtained citizenship in other nations.
The subject condition is that people who moved to other nations due to various reasons but still hold Indian citizenship are eligible to cast their votes. These votes can come in handy in the elections as contestants might lose elections with a few votes as well.
