'Nayakudu' To Impress On OTT From Today!

Super hit Tamil film 'Maamannan' which had a wonderful cast like Udayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahadh Fasil and Keerthy Suresh was released as 'Nayakudu' in Telugu last month. People showered praises on the performance of Vedivelu and others. But the movie did not get a good buzz prior to its release in Telugu.

A lot of people did not know about its release and it is why the film did not do great business in theatres. Within a short time, the movie is made available on Netflix. The popular OTT platform bought the streaming rights for all languages and it can be watched online from Friday.

The film is a political drama that deals with the caste system in the society. Timmaraju (Vadivelu) is an MLA belonging to a backward caste. His son Raghuveera (Udayanidhi Stalin) is angry towards him as Raghuveera faces caste discrimination since childhood and loses all his friends and almost faces death. But his father never did anything which makes him agitated. Due to this, there are no talks between them over the last 15 years. Though he is an MLA, Timmaraju always faces discrimination from Ratnavelu's (Fahadh Fasil) family who are powerful in his party.

Timmaraju gets humiliated when he goes to Ratnavelu's house as a dispute arose between Raghuveera and Ratnavelu's brother. Raghuveera fights back with Ratnavelu and this becomes a big issue. Ratnavelu decides to kill both the father and son. What happens after that forms the rest of the story. Fahadh Fasil plays the antagonist role in this movie.

Maari Selvaraj made movies like 'Pariyerum Perumal' and 'Karnan' before. Suresh Productions and Asian Cinemas banner are distributing this film in Telugu. The film is backed by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant movies. Theni Eswar is the cinematographer while Selva is the editor.
