Bollywood star hero Akshay Kumar's latest outing 'PadMan' has impressed the audience by dealing menstrual hygiene which is a taboo subject in India. Usually the majority of our Bollywood films release in our neighboring country. But Pakistan Federal Censor board denied certification for 'PadMan'.
They refused to certify the film for screening in Pakistan saying that it is against their culture. A member of Pakistani censor board said that they can't allow their film distributors to import films that are against their tradition and culture. The members of Punjab Film Censor Board also refused to even watch the film because it is a taboo subject and they have outrightly rejected the clearance certificate to the film.
It is known that the movie is based on the life of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganatham, who invented the low-cost sanitary pads for promoting menstrual hygiene in rural areas. 'PadMan' is receiving appreciation from the critics for dealing a sensitive subject. If we speak about the box office performance of the film in India, the movie has collected Rs. 23.94 crore in just two days and the movie is running strong making it another successful movie in Akshay Kumar career.
