Akhanda managed to become huge success at the box office despite the Andhra Pradesh ticket pricing issue.
Akhanda 11 Days Total World Wide Collections Report is as follows
(Collections in Rs.)
Nizam: 17.47Cr
Ceeded: 13.55Cr
UA: 5.43Cr
East: 3.68Cr
West: 3.07Cr
Guntur: 4.28Cr
Krishna: 3.22Cr
Nellore: 2.31Cr
AP-TG Total:- 53.01CR
Ka+ROI: 4.15Cr
OS â 4.92Cr
Total WW: 62.08CR(106 Gross)
Overall Business = 53Cr
Break Even= 54Cr
Now, looking at these collections, it is easy to say that all other films can also make similar money or escape with marginal profit. In 11 days, Akhanda made a profit of Rs. 8 crores.
Looking at the demand, the movie might have made a profit of Rs. 15 crores or so, if the ticket rates hike was allowed. The movie has become the biggest blockbuster for Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu combination.
Being the first big film releasing after a gap of 7 months after Vakeel Saab, also helped the film, in putting such huge numbers. But can we say the same for Pushpa, RRR, RadheShyam?
Gamanam, Skylab failed at the box office despite average reviews and Lakshya releasing with Naga Shourya as hero failed to even register a decent opening.
The ticket rates did not increase audiences interest in watching films. Spiderman No Way Home ticket rates have been decided to be as high as Rs. 1350 at several places in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore. Still the tickets are being bought for the film at that high price too.
People buy tickets for their favourite star hero films even if they cost Rs. 1000 or 1500 as they see it as one time expense and not long term one. They just want to enjoy Euphoria with co-fans on the day.
So, restricting the business opportunity rather than regulating seems to be worrying factor for Telugu Cinema biggies when it comes to Andhra Pradesh government's guidelines about ticket prices.
We hope Government decision makers will look into the matter more seriously and see Spiderman example and allow at least nominal hike for RRR, RadheShyam kind of movies coming Sankranti season.
