There was a time when Chiranjeevi became the talk of the Nation for being the highest paid actor even surpassing someone like Amitabh Bachchan. In 1992 September edition, Megastar featured on the cover of 'The Week' magazine with the headline 'Bigger Than Bachchan'.

As the iconic actor was getting ready for the re-entry into films, All eyes have been on Chiranjeevi's 150th film and the remuneration he would be charging for the movie. Until 2008, Chiru was the highest paid actor in Tollywood with a pay package of Rs 8 crore per film. Can he repeat the same feat now and claim the title again?

Critics say, Chiranjeevi is no more Andarivadu after his utter failure as a politician. In the last 5 years, He lost the support of majority of his fans apart from common man and even the situation in the Film Industry changed drastically. So, he hardly had any chance this time.

Currently, Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu are the two top stars and also highest paid actors in TFI. While Powerstar charges Rs 18 crore, Superstar pockets anywhere between Rs 16 crore. No chance for Chiru to reach any of these figures and his remuneration mayn't cross the Rs 8-9 crore mark if he does films for producers outside his family.
