Walt Disney Co on Thursday postponed the release dates of its biggest franchise, Avatar by one year as the novel coronavirus has disrupted production.
Avatar 2, which had resumed production in New Zealand earlier this summer after a two-month shutdown, was originally scheduled to be released December of 2021. But, now it has been bumped to December 16, 2022.
Meanwhile, Avatar 3 got shuffled from December 2023 to December 20, 2024, Avatar 4 is moved from December 2025 to December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 is pushed from December 2027 to December 22, 2028
