Successful director Anil Ravipudi is back again with 'F3'. He is aiming to score another blockbuster with this film which is the second movie from 'F2' franchise. The lead cast members including Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamanna, Mehreen, Raghubabu, Pragathi, Rajendra Prasad, Annapurna and others of 'F2' were retained in 'F3' too while a bunch of new actors like Sonal Chauhan, Sampath, Murali Sharma and others were added to the mix. Right from the moment the film went on floors, the makers insisted on the fact that it is a complete entertainer aimed to make people laugh and logic should be ignored completely. The trailer emphasized on the same fact. After successfully tuning the minds of the audience, 'F3' came out this Friday and let us dive into the review straight away to find whether the movie successfully entertained the audience or not.
Story:
'F3' completely revolves around money. All the characters in the movie try to become rich in the shortest way possible and end up in more trouble. Their frustrations create a lot of fun. Venky (Venkatesh) and Varun (Varun Tej) continuously falls into the trap of Manga family. All of them are in need of immediate money and they end up trying to convince a rich businessman (Murali Sharma) that one of them is his lost son. What happens after that? Will their money problems get solved? Who is the businessman's son? All these questions will be answered in the movie.
Analysis:
As we said, there is no room for logic in 'F3'. This is the most important part to remember before stepping into theatres. Anil Ravipudi had taken everything a notch higher in 'F3' starting from craziness and fun to over-the-top nature of the proceedings. The movie kicks off on a decent note but picks up pace with the introduction of lead actors. Venkatesh lights up the screen from the moment he enters the story and dominates everyone else whenever he appears. The first half is highly entertaining and the makers made the right choice of not including any romantic numbers. Every character has a signature and a unique characteristic. The way in which these characters were written should be appreciated. The plans of heroes to become rich and falling into the trap of heroines' family are a treat to watch. There are many portions in the first half that leaves the audience in splits. Every actor is in their top form and delivered their lines with perfect timing which turned out to be the biggest asset of this film.
The comedy generated by Anil Ravipudi through Venky's night blindness brings the house down and the movie comes to an interval at the perfect time. The real problem starts with the second half. Despite a few laughs here and there, the proceedings are way over the top and the audience become restless after a point. But Anil rescues the film by using references of all the star heroes in Tollywood. The climax is also designed in a funny and satirical manner and creates good amounts of fun. There is a surprise for the viewers in the climax which is sure to amaze the viewers. The movie has one single target which is to make the audience laugh and it succeeds in that aspect. The regular story, predictable narration and a handful of loud scenes which fail to generate laughs can be ignored.
The movie reminds people of a couple of Bollywood films like 'Housefull' and 'Golmaal' in its style and presentation. There are a few characters which start on an impressive note but gets left behind during the latter portions. Despite a crisp runtime, there are a few portions in the second half which were a bit slow and tests the patience of the audience. Overall, the film delivers what it promised and people who love to forget all their miseries in life and laugh wholeheartedly in theatres will enjoy the 'F3' ride.
Performances:
As expected, it is Venkatesh who steals the show. He has the best comedy timing in Tollywood and he proves it once again with 'F3'. The way he delivers his lines and the funny expressions are a treat to watch. The comedy revolving around his night blindness will surely bring the house down. Despite having a lot of artists in the frame, he manages to dominate everyone and ends up as the heartbeat of the film. Varun Tej is very good in his entertaining role and pulled off the stuttering quite convincingly. The way he struggles while stuttering generates a lot of laughs and his combination scenes with Venkatesh are great to watch.
Mehreen gets a fun role in the first half and she does a very good job. Shockingly, she disappears in the second half completely and there is not even a single dialogue for her. Tamannaah takes a back seat in the first half but will stun the audience with her appearance in the second half. Her different look and scenes revolving around her character are decent. She showed variations and did a commendable job. It has been a long time since we have seen Sunil in a completely fun role. We can see his vintage comedy in 'F3' and he delivers big time. Raghubabu is equally good as the sidekick to Venky and comes up with hilarious one-liners. Ali gets a brief but a highly entertaining role. Sampath and Rajendra Prasad's track is well designed and Satya did a great job too. Pragathi, Srikanth Iyengar, Pruthvi, Srinivas Reddy and others did justice to their characters.
Technicians:
Devi Sri Prasad did not have much scope for songs in this movie. The few songs which were included sound and appear well on the screen. His background score fits perfectly with the style of Anil Ravipudi. Many hit songs were used in the background for entertainment purposes which left no room for him to showcase his talent. The cinematography is quite good and the visuals look grand. The editing is neat though some scenes in the second half are way too loud and looked unnecessary. The production values from Dil Raju and Shirish are adequate and they did not go for a lavish budget and relied on the director and artists.
Anil Ravipudi did what he is best known for. His movies do not have unique storylines or never-seen-before scenes. They run due to a high dose of entertainment and relatable scenes. He knows what is expected from him and delivers it in the best way possible. He went a bit overboard in some scenes but the rest of the film is quite entertaining.
Verdict: F3 - Delivers What's Promised!
