I don't believe in Religion & Caste: Renu Desai

Update: 2014-12-21 07:10 GMT

Actress-turned-Filmmaker Renu Desai's take on Hinduism garnered mixed reactions from the public. While few appreciated her clarity on the religion, Others criticize her for no reason.

Renu Desai: "Hinduism is the most tolerant as it's not a religion, its a way of life! Unlike most other religions, Hinduism has no single founder! Hinduism has been called the 'oldest religion' in the world (Sanatana Dharma), 'the eternal law' or the 'eternal way' beyond human origins. It prescribes the "eternal" duties, such as honesty, mercy, purity, self-restraint, tolerance, among others."

"I don't believe in Religion or in Caste or any particular God. The one & only religion we should all strictly follow & practice is Humanity! Nothing more nothing less," she adds.

Responding to the criticism from haters, Renu complains there is no freedom of speech in a democratic country like India if she just states a fact about a 'religion' she belong to.
