Tamil director AR Murugadoss is known for making films that strike gold at the box office. Majority of his films are blockbusters. However, he was caught in a controversy for the film Sarkar starring Vijay.

The political drama has a particular scene where the public vents out their anger on the free schemes of the government that did not go well with the previous AIADMK government.

A case was filed against the director on the grounds of having scenes that are against the government. The case was filed back in 2018.

Spyder director Murugadoss got a major sigh of relief with the Madras High court dismissing the court that has been going on since the last three years.

While dismissing the case, the Madras High Court said that an individual or government cannot file a case against the director for a film after it gets the sensor certification. The petition filed against the director goes against the freedom of expression granted by the Indian Constitution, the court said.
