Katamarayudu settles as a 'flop'!

Update: 2017-04-18 09:10 GMT
Pawan Kalyan has been busy shooting for his next movie in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. His last film released for Ugadi weekend this March and he also released his previous movie before that for Ugadi as well. Both the movies he released on festival weekend, to cash in on Summer season early. Sardar Gabbar Singh and Katamarayudu, both ended up disappointing his fans and common audience as well.

But both the movies, riding high on popularity on Pawan Kalyan were sold for high prices and Sardar ended up collecting, 52 stores share. Still the movie being sold for an amount of 80 approximately, it was considered a disaster. Now, Katamarayudu, collected a total of 62 crores. The collections of both the movies can be termed as blockbuster collections of other hero films but with Pawan Kalyan as the lead, the distributors bought them for more than 70 crores and as they did not recover the amount we have to call them flops.

The break up for Katamarayudu collections;

Nizam :         15.40 crs
Ceded:           8.26 crs
Krishna:          3.69 crs
Nellore:.         2.10 crs
Guntur:.         4.97 crs
UA.               6.26 crs
East :             5.35 crs
West :.          4.22 crs
Overseas:       5.35 crs
Rest of India:  6.55 crs

The total collections mount up to 62.15 crores as a distributor share. Just in two Telugu states, the movie collected 50 crores. On the whole, we can conclude that Pawan Kalyan did give a better movie than his previous one, which ended up a flop due to huge expectations and high prices. At least now, distributors will try to understand the market potential and buy accordingly.
