Amid high expectations, superstar Rajinikanth and Director Shankar's much anticipated high budget movie '2.O' has finally hit the screens on November 29th. As the audience has waited for long, they got super excited to watch the movie in theatres.
As expected, the film had a great opening day in the Telugu states. Reports suggest that the film has already raked Rs.19 crores on the Day 1 and became the highest ever opening day collections of Rajnikanth in Tollywood. But interestingly, the collections of '2.O' in overseas are not up to the mark. The film struggled even to reach the 1 million dollar mark at the foreign box office. On this note, some are commenting that watching the teaser, trailer and posters, some people felt that it would be like a video game and failed to show interest in watching the film. On the other hand, Lyca Productions had their own release in overseas. But because of the poor planning in the number of theatres, the collections became very less.
The movie hit the screens in 265 places and the collections for and the first-day collections is $295000 (Rs. 2,05,54,125).
