It's rare to see woman lyricists in Telugu films.   Even though a lady lyricist pens songs the number will be very less.  No lady lyricist has made a mark for herself in Tollywood by writing songs continuously.  But the lyricist Sreshta is changing that scenario in Tollywood now.

She has penned the lyrics for Madhuram Madhuram song in Tollywood's latest sensation 'Arjun Reddy' movie.  She has not only penned the lyrics but she has composed the tune for the song.  She has penned another song Nee vallane.. enno enno bhavaale' song in recently released 'Yuddham Sharanam' as well.  She has also penned lyrics for Chinuku Taake, Merise Merise songs in 'Pelli Choopulu' also.

Sreshta is saying that she has gone through several troubles when she entered the films.  She revealed that she had to face the heat of 'casting couch' from the senior writers.  When she approached a senior writer to join as an assistant, she reportedly told her 'Only talent will not be enough to excel here baby'.. by laughing at her wickedly.  Sreshta said to have challenged him that she will prove herself with only talent.

Not only him but a few others were ready to give offers but with 'a price' attached to it.  They tried to stop her offers because she opposed them.  She revealed that they have even warned her over the phone as well.   But she has encountered all these things with courage and she got her first opportunity with 'Oka Romantic Crime Katha'.  She said that she has penned all the songs in that film and 'Pelli Choopulu' is a turning point in her career.
