Omhkar shut the mouths which made fun of his dream to be a successful Director with 'Raju Gari Gadhi'. After a gap of almost two years, He arrived with 'Raju Gari Gadhi 2' which have a bigger star cast & budget. Posters & Promos of this horror comedy have already left a good impression. Let's see if this movie fulfills the wish of Akkineni Family to make the first film after the #ChaiSam wedding a grand success…

Synopsis:

Three Close Friends [Ashwin (Ashwin Babu), Ravi (Vennela Kishore) and Praveen (Praveen)] start a joint business by purchasing a resort. The Trio come across unusual happenings in the resort just when everything seems to be okay. They finally realize the property is haunted by an evil spirit. That's when, Rudra (Nagarjuna) who is a mentalist is being approached to bail out them from trouble. Is there really a ghost in the resort? If so, why it is in that particular place? Do watch 'Raju Gari Gadhi 2' in theaters nearby to know how the story ends!

Performances:

As Mentalist, Nagarjuna played his character to perfection. He carries the Second Half on his shoulders. Particularly, His experience comes in handy during pre-climax and climax.

Samantha arrests the attention of viewers with her role of Amrutha. Though her character doesn't last for long, She makes her presence felt with her marvelous performance.

Ashwin Babu fails to impress once again. Seerat Kapoor does ample glamour show but neither her looks nor her role leave a big impact. Shakalaka Shankar & Vennela Kishore tickle the funny bone. Abhinaya does a fine job. Praveen & Naresh are just okay.

Pros:

Nagarjuna & Samantha

Background Score

Flashback

Climax

Cons:

Lack of enough Comedy

First Half

Technicalities:

'Raju Gari Gadhi 2' is technically sound. Background Score provided by SS Thaman is a huge asset. Be it Horror Sequences or Emotional Scenes, He delivered his best to elevate the scenes. However, The Two Bit Songs are just so-so. Camera Work by Diwakaran is impressive. Visual Effects are too good in sketch sequence and few other scenes. Nothing to find fault with Production Values as the whole film looks so rich. Editing could have been more crisp. Omhkar obtained the story of Malayalam's 'Pretham' and modified it to suit the Telugu nativity. He shows his calibre as a Director in the second half. Emotional Scenes were dealt so well by him. He, however, wasn't able to generate either horror or comedy to the extent audience would appreciate.

Analysis:

Horror Comedy is the most successful genre in Telugu. Low Budget is one of the major advantage for such films, why because entire shoot can be done in a single bungalow with limited casting. If a movie have few horror and comedy scenes, Then it's most likely gonna be a hit. This is why Filmmakers believe Horror Comedy films are a safe bet.

Most of Horror Comedy Films are made with a fixed template - Haunted House, Hero-Heroine enter it with a bunch of Comedians, Few Thrills & Comedy Scenes here and there, Ghost's Flashback & Revenge in Climax. Even the outline of 'Raju Gari Gadhi 2' is more or less similar but the treatment of the story makes the different. In a way, This is a horror comedy made on a grand scale with a strong emotional quotient.

This time, Omhkar preferred to focus on presenting a social issue emotionally. He succeeded in narrating the flashback in an impactful manner. While the First Half is more like time-pass thing, Strong Point & Intensity in the Second Half will move the viewers emotionally. Everyone could relate to the point touched in 'Raju Gari Gadhi 2'.

On the flip side, Neither Horror nor Comedy were up to the mark in the movie. Omhkar wasn't able to make use of Vennela Kishore, Shakalaka Shankar and Praveen to the fullest. Even Seerat Kapoor's glamour show isn't so effective. Story hardly progresses until Rudra played by Nagarjuna enters the scene. Viewers would hardly have the feeling of watching a horror comedy in the Second Half. The title 'Raju Gari Gadhi 2' is just used to capitalize on the success of Omhkar's previous flick.

Bottom Line: Less Comedy - More Emotion!
