Honey Rose Harassment Case: Businessman Says Sorry
Kerala businessman Boby Chemmanur has publicly apologised to Malayalam actress Honey Rose over his comments about her.
Kerala businessman Boby Chemmanur has publicly apologised to Malayalam actress Honey Rose over his comments about her. He said he never wanted to hurt or insult her and hoped that his apology would help end the legal dispute between them.
In a Facebook post shared on Monday, Chemmanur said he has always tried to treat everyone with kindness and respect. He explained that he often shares humorous and light-hearted content on social media but never intended to offend anyone.
He admitted that his comments had caused pain to Honey Rose and her family. In his statement, he wrote, "But I have come to realise that my statements about Ms Honey Rose have caused significant distress to her and her family. I deeply apologise for the harm I have caused. I take full responsibility for my words and their impact."
Chemmanur also said he hoped his apology would encourage the actress to withdraw the criminal case filed against him. He added that he wanted the issue to be settled peacefully and wished to move forward in a positive way.
So far, Honey Rose has not made any public response to his apology. The controversy started after the actress accused Chemmanur of making sexually coloured and insulting remarks about her during a jewellery showroom inauguration event. Later, she also alleged that similar comments were made through different media platforms.
Earlier, Honey Rose said that no one has the right to disrespect women, no matter how powerful or wealthy they are. She also expressed confidence in India's legal system and decided to take legal action.
Chemmanur had previously denied any intention to insult the actress. However, the case moved forward after her complaint.
In January 2025, Chemmanur was arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the sexual harassment case. Police booked him under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to sexual harassment, along with relevant sections of the Information Technology Act concerning the publication of obscene content online.
