Varun Tej's Multilingual 'Matka' Begins Officially!

Mega Prince Varun Tej is known for his versatile script selection. He is arriving with a spy action thriller 'Gandeevadhari Arjuna' on 25th August while he is also doing a pan-Indian film where he will be seen as a pilot. Now, he has officially announced his next movie under the direction of 'Palasa' fame Karuna Kumar. It is Varun's 14th film and it will be mounted on a grand scale by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments banner.
The pooja ceremony was held a while ago and some bigwigs of Tollywood have arrived to wish the team best of luck Suresh Babu and the film's producers handed over the script to the director to start the proceedings. Harish Shankar launched the title poster. Allu Aravind sounded the clapboard and Dil Raju did the honorary direction. Director Maruthi switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot.
'Matka' is the movie's title and it is a form of gambling. The story which takes place between 1958-1982 is based on a real incident that shook the entire nation and the story is set in the backdrop of Vizag. The story spans 24 years. Varun will be seen sporting four different get-ups in the movie and his makeover is expected to be amazing. Meenakshi Chowdary and Nora Fatehi are the female leads in this movie. Naveen Chandra and Kannada Kishore will be playing prominent roles.
The team indeed is taking extra care to get the milieu and the feel of the 60s. Ashish Teja is the production designer and Suresh is the art director. A huge vintage set depicting Vizag in the 60s is going to be constructed by the team. GV Prakash who is signing multiple Telugu projects lately is going to compose the music for this flick too. Priyaseth will handle the cinematography. Karthika Srinivas R is the editor. This indeed is the first Pan India project for Varun Tej and it will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. The rest of the cast includes Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, Roopalakshmi, Vijayrama Raju, Jagadeesh, Raj Thirandas and others. Karuna Kumar has written the story, screenplay and dialogues as well apart from being the director.
