After Vijay Deverakonda, Nani Too Embraces Telangana Flavour

Telugu cinema has always used different cultures, slang and traditions from both Andhra and Telangana. But in recent times, the use of Telangana flavour in mainstream films has become a topic of discussion. Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise is now getting attention for a similar reason.Nani is originally from Andhra Pradesh.

However, his films have often connected strongly with the Telangana audience. His last film Dasara had a strong Telangana backdrop, slang and cultural flavour. The film received huge attention in Telangana, especially because of the way the local lifestyle and language were presented.

Now, The Paradise seems to be following a similar path. The recently released folk song remix “Yesha Nagula Kattameedha” has once again brought Telangana culture into the discussion. Instead of only talking about the music, some people on social media have started debating the regional flavour used in the film.

This also shows how regional identity has become an important topic in Telugu cinema. Vijay Deverakonda has already created a strong image as a Telangana hero in Tollywood. His slang, body language and choice of stories have helped him build a special connection with the Telangana audience.

Interestingly, there are very few mainstream heroes who are strongly identified with Andhra culture in the same way. Allu Arjun is one major example. This shows that regional flavour can actually become a strength for Telugu cinema. A film does not have to avoid local culture to reach a wider audience. If the story and characters are strong, regional elements can make the film more unique and attractive.

At the same time, Andhra and Telangana should not be treated as competing identities. Both are important parts of Telugu culture. Different accents, traditions and lifestyles only make Telugu cinema more colourful.

The Paradise is expected to explore a strong local world once again. It remains to be seen whether Nani can repeat the success and connect with the Telangana audience like he did with Dasara. The film is scheduled for release on September 24.
