MK Stalin is the leader who strongly backed Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister of India. Although rest of the UPA Allies kept opposing Rahul as PM, The DMK Chief continued to express his wish to see the Congress President as Prime Minister.
Post the release of Exit Polls which indicated the formation of NDA Government, MK Stalin seems to be keen to shift loyalties to BJP and become a part of the central government. When quizzed if DMK forms alliance with the Ruling Party in power at the national level, Stalin told he would answer this question only after counting of votes on May 23rd.
Ruling AIADMK questioned why Stalin hesitated to announce that DMK is an alliance partner of Congress after Exit Polls favoured NDA. 'Stalin would have shown his loyalty to Congress had if he is honest or a leader with principles. He seems to be focussing only on Cabinet Berths rather than sticking to alliance dharma,' comments AIADMK.
DMK is expected to win anywhere around 30 MP Seats. If Stalin-led DMK joins NDA, UPA won't be able to recover anytime soon.
