Andhra Pradesh which is the second worst-affected state in India continues to fear the ongoing pandemic with the total infections in the state pass surged the 5 lakh-mark.
As per the media bulletin, 58,187 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, and 8,368 infections were detected taking the toll to 5,06,493. So far, 41,66,077 samples have been tested.
The count of fresh pandemic cases in the state decreased in the last 24 hours which a sign of progress. Till yesterday, AP reported over 10,000 fresh cases for 10 consecutive days.
The total fatalities in connection with the ongoing pandemic are inching towards the 4500-mark with 4,487 including 70 patients breathing their last battling the virus in a single day.
In the last 24 hours, 10,055 patients managed to recover from the contagious disease and the total recoveries in the state mounted to a whopping 4,04,074. The active cases stood at 97,932.
East Godavari continues to be the worst-affected region in the state with 68,260 positive cases followed by Kurnool(48702), Anantapur(45884), West Godavari(43853), and Chittor(43436).
