Amaravati Yatra: AP BJP Leader Lashes Out At YCP!

Update: 2022-09-27 09:56 GMT
The farmers from the Amaravati region who have been fighting for the capital city in the region are busy in the second leg of padayatra. The Yatra is planned from Amaravati to Arasavelli. Amaravati farmers' second yatra is underway. While the yatra is going at a good pace, it is also facing strong criticism from the ruling party members.

The ruling party members are accusing that, the opposition Telugu Desam Party is sponsoring the yatra and the main motto of the yatra is to stop development coming in the North Andhra region.

The ruling party targeting the Amaravati farmers did not go well with the BJP state vice president for Andhra Pradesh P Vishnu Kumar Raju and he lashed out at the party. He asked how the ruling party can pass such comments on farmers who are fighting for their cause peacefully. The BJP leader went on to say that, the union government might also join the row to support the Amaravati farmers.

The Andhra Pradesh wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been supporting the Amaravati movement openly. AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju earlier said that the party is in favour of the Amaraat cause and if it comes to power the party will support the farmers.

However, there is an opinion that the BJP wants to use the Amaravati issue for its political mileage. The saffron party has no point that can be used to foray into the state. The party has been trying hard to spread its wings in Andhra Pradesh but in vain.

The main fight in the state is between YSRCP and Telugu Desam Party and BJP is in third place. The BJP joined hands with Pawan Kalyan's Janasena. However, the move did not make any difference as of now and the alliance did not win at least one election in Andhra Pradesh.

The Amaravati controversy erupted with the current government opposing the Amaravati capital city proposed by the previous government. The YSRCP is saying that having three capitals will help the decentralisation of development rather than development going into the Amaravati region alone. The farmers have been fighting against this.
