The High Court of Andhra Pradesh slamming the state government on the decisions it took is not a new one. We have been seeing this for around four years now. Political experts say that the state government almost made it a habit of facing blows in the court. The majority of the decisions were slammed by the High Court.
This happened yet again in the court as the High Court stayed the orders issued by the Andhra Pradesh government and issued directives to the ruling party in the state to file a counter on this. The case will see progress once the Government files a counter in this regard.
It is known that the Andhra Pradesh government served the summons to AP Government Employees Union President Suryanarayana for meeting the Governor. Saying that he violated the rules by meeting the Governor the government slapped him with a summons and asked why action should not be taken against him.
Suryanarayana challenged this in the high court and the court heard the arguments of both sides. After the arguments, the High Court issued a stay on the summons and asked the state government to file a counter on this. The members of the union are celebrating the new verdict.
The financial situation of Andhra Pradesh is such that the government is not able to pay salaries and pensions on time. Every month the employees are reportedly getting salaries after the tenth. Employees are fighting for the address of the issue for a very long time.
The employees voted for YSRCP in the 2019 general elections hoping that the party would clear their issues and scrap the Old Pension Scheme as promised before the polls. But the party did not scarp it and the advisor to the government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that Jagan made the promise due to lack of knowledge.
Forget about scrapping the OPS, the government is not even able to pay the salaries and pension benefits. Having waited for a long time, the AP Government Employees Union met Governor and sought his help to address the issue. But the President of the body attracted summons.
