Update: 2016-05-09 05:11 GMT
Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju told three Chief Ministers have been firmly opposing Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh at the time when Centre is considering the implementation of the promise. He opined the current situation mayn't have arisen had if Congress incorporated Special Status in AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

Ashok Gajapathi Raj pointed out the 14th Finance Commission report which hinted AP will have a revenue deficit of Rs 23,000 crore in the next 5 years, whereas Telangana would have revenue surplus of Rs 1.18 lakh crore.

Mr.Raju told AP could emerge as a premier state once again only if Centre offers enough financial assistance. He warned TDP Leaders that few external forces are trying to break the alliance with BJP for political gains.

Even AP CM Chandrababu Naidu told his Cabinet Ministers that disassociating with NDA willn't do any good to the state.
