Virtually launching the 2024 election campaign, the BJP has identified 160 Lok Sabha constituencies for taking out special campaigns. The aim is to strengthen the party, consolidate the votes. The party has identified one lakh polling booths for the purpose. Special programmes would be organised in these booths to strengthen the organisation and party's outreach.
Interestingly, these constituencies are considered as weak constituencies. The party wants to focus on these weak constituencies first so that it can capitalise on the gains made in these areas. This is unlike the other parties, which first focus on the strongest seats and then look at weak constituencies if time and resources permit.
Interestingly, party sources at the national executive which is being held in Delhi said that party president JP Nadda and key workers have already covered 1.30 lakh booths across the country. The BJP also set for itself the target of winning all the nine assembly elections that will happen in 2023. Key states like Tripura, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh will go to polls this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be aiming at a straight third victory in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. If Modi wins for the third time in a row, he would equal the unique record of Jawahar Lal Nehru, who had won in 1952, 1957 and 1962 elections. The party has decided to reach out to every voter in the country in the runup to the 2024 elections, according to sources.
