Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nitin Gadkari has been with the saffron party for quite some time. He is known for his straightforward nature and the Union Cabinet Minister's nature can be seen as before and after the BJP's Parliamentary Board was announced. The veteran leaders are not taken into the board.
For the past few days, Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has been making explosive comments. At a recent meeting, the BJP leader said no one should leave others' hands in the tough time, and following the use-and-throw strategy is not good.
As another such example, Nitin Gadkari shared an incident where he was invited into the grand old Congress party. He said that one of his friends invited him, but he said he cannot join the party as he doesn't like the ideology of the Congress party.
Walking down memory lane, Nitin Gadkari said that when he was a student leader, the then Minister from the Congress Shrikant Jichkar gave an invitation to be a Congress party. However, due to ideological differences, he refused the offer. Gadkari said that he termed Congress as a well.
"My friend once advised me to join the Congress, I said, I'd rather drown in a well than join the Congress party. I don't like the ideology of the Congress,"Nitin Gadkari said in the video.
It is no wonder that Nitin Gadkari did not join Congress as he hails from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) background. As he is from Nagpur, the headquarters of RSS Nitin Gadkari was drawn to the organisation and he rose to a big position in the Hindu outfit.
However, a few political experts say that Nitin Gadkari's comments should be seen as a dig at the BJP for not taking him into the Parliamentary Board. He said that he preferred BJP over the Congress party.
The political experts observe that Nitin Gadkari might have expressed his dissatisfaction with missing a spot in the party's Parliamentary Board through his comments. He might have made the statement saying that he preferred the Bharatiya Janata Party over Congress, but he was not given a place in the Parliamentary Board.
