Centre Responds To Media Reports Of Vaccine Candidates Rejected For Emergency Use!

When the race between three pharma giants to bring the vaccine in the country is going on, the media reports are abuzz claiming that the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has not approved the vaccines developed by Pune's Serum Institute of India and Hyderabad's Bharat Biotech for emergency-use authorization.

From the regional channels to national television channels many media outlets carried out stories claiming that the vaccines developed by the two pharma giants were denied.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare responded to the media reports and termed these reports as fake and urged the public to not believe in such false media speculations.

The official statement of the Ministry stated that the reports of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) not approving the emergency use of vaccines gave hope of receiving the vaccine very soon.

Officially three pharma giants, Bharat Biotech, Serum Institute of India, and US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer have applied for the emergency use of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The subject committee is expected to chair a crucial meeting o decide on giving its nod for the authorisation of the emergency use of the vaccine candidates to fight the pandemic. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the subject committee's meeting.
