The United States administration led by president to Donald Trump has making it increasingly difficult for the Indian working community to travel to the U.S. and if this situation is not a detrimental enough, the AI revolution is creating more problems.

The growing focus on artificial intelligence in the United States is changing how companies hire foreign workers, and this is affecting Indian tech professionals the most. In the past, many Indian IT companies regularly sent thousands of employees to the US on H1B visas.

These firms depended heavily on the visa program to support client work and large tech projects. But now the number of new H1B approvals for these companies has dropped sharply.

This decline is happening because US companies are investing heavily in AI and advanced technologies. Instead of outsourcing routine IT tasks, many American firms want to build strong AI teams within the country.

They prefer hiring workers directly in the US to speed up development and keep innovation closer to home. As a result, US based tech giants are receiving more H1B approvals, while Indian IT service companies are receiving fewer.

Even major companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro are seeing reduced approvals for new H1B positions. This shift shows how the technology job market is changing. Traditional IT roles are shrinking, and AI focused roles are growing fast. Because of this, Indian tech workers hoping to move to the US through the H1B route now face a tougher and more competitive path.
