Have Chandrababu Naidu's calculations about the Nallari family gone horribly wrong? Has his strategy of luring Nallari Kishore Reddy, brother of former CM Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, into the TDP, have gone awry? Has Nallari Kishore become a liability to the TDP in Chittoor district?
Nallaris are a politically powerful family. Nallari Amarnath Reddy was a many time MP and was a political leader in the district. His son Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy was the last chief minister of undivided AP. He was the CM for around two years and his brother Nallari Kishore Reddy was considered a shadow CM.
But, post bifurcation of AP, Kiran Kumar Reddy formed the Jai Samaikyandhra Party and Kishore contested from the family burrough of Punganur. However, both the party and Kishore were wiped out in the elections. Later, Chandrababu lured Kishore into the party. He also gave him a plum corporation chairperson post in the hope that Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy too would join the TDP. But, Kiran Reddy did not join the TDP.
Due to Kishore's entry, most of the senior TDP leaders in Punganuru had resigned from the party or have become inactive. Kishore too has become very inactive and has not been seen on any party forum. As a result, it has turned out to be a double whammy for Chandrababu. Kishore is inactive and the loyal TDP leaders are no longer with the party. Now, Chandrababu does not know how to set the things right in Punganuru, where the TDP is a shadow of its former self.
