Centre has constituted a 5-member committee comprising of Chief Ministers to address the plight of people post the launch of demonetization scheme. AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will act as the chairman of this panel. The first meeting of the committee is scheduled to take place on December 2nd, 2016.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley appealed Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to be part of the Centre-appointed panel. Mr.Kumar is one of the very few CMs in the states where BJP isn't in the ruling to support demonetization.
Chief Ministers of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tripura and Puducherry were expected to take part in the first meeting of the committee. The Members of the panel will give suggestions to Centre on the method to be followed for achieving cashless economy.
