Congress Leader P Chidambaram acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Most Dominant Political Figure. 'With the victory in Uttar Pradesh polls, Modi has clearly established himself as the most dominant political figure who have a pan-India appeal,' he accepts.
While speaking a meeting held at Indian Merchants Chamber in Mumbai on Sunday, Chidambaran opined BJP and Modi made good use of the 7-phase Election in Uttar Pradesh to polarize voters. He pointed out the difference in Modi's speech after the first two phases in which presence of Minorities is more. He accused PM of changing his speeches depending on the constituencies.
Pointing out PM's comments on Kabristan, Diwali and Eid, Chidambaram questioned: 'Could Modi do that if election was conducted in a single phase? Imagine what would have happened if Modi spoke about Kabristan on Day 1 of his campaigning. Why can't election be conducted in a single phase? Is the police force in Uttar Pradesh not capable of maintaining Law & Order?'.
