CS Neelam Sahni To Get 6 Months Extension

Update: 2020-05-14 07:02 GMT
Current Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, Neelam Sahni, is likely to get an extension for another six months. According to highly placed sources, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has requested the Central Government to give her an extension. Sources say that Jagan has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue.

Neelam Sahni's tenure expires on May 30. However, in view of the Corona and the massive efforts by the State government during the lockdown, Jagan reportedly wants continuity in the administration. A new CS at this juncture could throw the works out of gear. So, Jagan feels that Neelam Sahni should be given an extension for at least six more months. For the past  few days, there have been speculations that Neelam Sahni would be given an extension.

Prime Minister Narendra MOdi is not in favour of such extensions. But, since these are unusual times and because the nation is fighting Corona virus big time, he may agree to the extension, sources say.
