Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's racy action flick 'Pathaan' might be a huge blockbuster which shattered many records now but it was subjected to a lot of criticism and hatred prior to its release. Especially, heroine Deepika Padukone faced a lot of abuse on social media for sporting a saffron color bikini in 'Besharam Rang' song.
It became a huge controversy and even politicians started to send warnings on social media platforms. After all these days, Deepika finally opened up about this issue and expressed her opinions in an interview. She said, "I can say this for both of us (herself and Shah Rukh) that we don't know any other way of being. I think that's just who we are as people and the way we have been brought up by our respective families. We came here (to Mumbai) alone with just dreams and aspirations. All we know is commitment, hard work and humility, and it has gotten us where we are. Some of it (handling adversity) comes with experience and maturity. We both have been athletes. I do know that he played sports in school and college. Sport teaches you a lot about restraint."
Speaking about her onscreen chemistry with SRK, Deepika stated, "15 years ago, a superstar like him showed immense faith in a rank newcomer, who had no experience or lineage in the film industry, and cast me opposite him without an audition, mind you, that too in a double role. The beautiful part of our relationship is that one handhold or one hug communicates everything that we need to convey to each other."
'Pathaan' has crossed 500 crores in the domestic market and minted more than 1000 crores in the international market. It is still getting decent collections from some areas and gave a new life to Bollywood.
