BJP candidate Draupadi Murmu will get zero votes in this state

Update: 2022-06-30 10:40 GMT
NDA's presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu's election as the next president of India is now a mere formality. The BJP enjoys a clear edge over the rival candidate. It needs a mere 7000 votes to get Murmu elected while, BJP,YSRCP and AIADMK have already extended their support. This means her victory is now a foregone conclusion.

However, there is one state in the country, where the NDA candidate may not win even a single vote. The state is Kerala. The state has not a single BJP MLA or MP. The NDA too is non-existent. The CPM-led Left Front, which is in power in the state has opposed her candidature. The UDA, led by the Congress, too will cast its vote in favour of Jaswant Sinha.

In Kerala, the BJP candidate may draw a blank. Thus, it would be the only state in the country where the NDA candidate will not get even a single vote. In neighbouring Karnataka, the BJP Is in power, while the BJP has presence in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Puducherry assemblies. In AP, it would get the support of the YSRCP, while the AIADMK will support it in Tamil Nadu

Thus, Kerala would be the only state in the whole country where Draupadi Murmu may not get even a single vote.  In Kerala, the LDF has 22048 votes, while the UDF has 19532 votes.  Thus, Yashwant Sinha is likely to get all the 20300 votes in the state.  While Draupadi Murmu's victory is a foregone conclusion, Kerala will stand as a thorn in the NDA flesh with practically no votes for the victorious candidate.
