Election Commission has removed as many as 255 parties across the country. This include both registered political parties and unrecognized political parties.
From Telugu States, As many as Twelve Political Parties have been delisted. Harikrishna's Anna Telugu Desam Party, Lakshmi Parvathy's NTR Telugu Desam Party and Ex-Home Minister P Indra Reddy's Jai Telangana Party are some of them which lost recognized party status.
Harikrishna floated Anna TDP on January 26th, 1999. Despite contesting in the 1999 Assembly Polls, This party failed to win a single seat.
Lakshmi Parvathy's NTR TDP was floated in 1995. It contested in 1996, 1998 and 1999 polls.
P Indra Reddy floated Jai Telangana Party in 1998. He, however, merged the party in Congress later.
The Poll Panel has conducted field inquiries to identify the political parties which are no longer functioning. Based on this report, 255 parties which didn't field their candidates in any of the general elections from 2005 to 2015 have been delisted.
