The usage of electric bikes is on a rise in India. As the fuel prices are going up at regular intervals and prices of Petrol and Diesel already reached an all-time high. Moreover, the union government is also pushing for e-bikes saying that they will not harm the environment.
While e-bike usage is increasing gradually, we are hearing stories of unfortunate incidents where the bikes and batteries are getting exploded. A few e-bike users lost their lives while a few others sustained big injuries. Another incident involving e-bikes was reported.
Going into detail, an e-bike showroom in Secunderabad reported a fire mishap on Monday night. After the fire broke out, the fire and smoke were spread to other floors. The fire followed by a big smoke started gripping the building. There is a hotel on the upper floor of the e-bike showroom.
The fire is said to have broke around 10 PM on Monday. The cops were informed about this and the firefighters were deployed. After trying hard, the firefighters brought the fire and smoke under control. Around two dozen people were present in the building. They were trapped in the building due to heavy smoke.
The media reports say that as many as eight people breathed their last in the mishap. The victims trapped inside the building sustained severe injuries. Eight of the injured victims passed away. Eight deceased victims include a woman victim. The majority of victims were trapped inside the hotel facility.
The firefighters turned heroes for the victims and brought them out of the facility. Unfortunately, eight people could not make it and breathed their last while undergoing treatment for the injuries they sustained.
The cops are busy identifying the bodies and once the procedure is finished, the family members will be informed. Few people who visited the hotel were trapped inside the hotel.
The investigation is underway to know the exact reason behind the fire mishap and what triggered the fire. Though nothing is official, it is said that a lack of proper ventilation resulted in fire and smoke surrounding the building. The thick smoke also made it tough for the firefighters to break into the place.
