Bharatiya Janata Partyâs suspended MLA Raja Singh condemned the reports which say that he is allegedly thinking of contesting the elections as an independent candidate if the party won't lift the suspension on him. He gave clarity that he would not contest the polls if the suspension was not lifted.
Raja Singh said that he did not do anything that would hinder the benefits of the party and he will not do so in the future too. He expressed hope for the party to cancel his suspension. Raja Singh called himself a big fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
On the same occasion, Raja Singh said that he has trust in the leadership of state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy.
When reports say that Raja Singh is allegedly planning to contest from the Amberpet constituency, which was earlier represented by Kishan Reddy, Raja Singh clarified and dubbed the report fake. The reports started doing rounds as BJP did not lift the suspension despite replying to show cause notice.
Police arrested Raja Singh for allegedly making comments that hurt the sentiments of Muslims. He was sent to jail on the 25th of August after the PD Act was slapped on him by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner. BJP suspended him from the party. He walked out of the jail on November 9 after spending two months in jail as he was arrested under the preventive detention act.
Quashing the directives of the Police Commissioner, the Telangana High Court granted bail to Raja Singh. The Court directed him to not make any comments or speech that can create unrest among communities. Raja Singh who became silent with this came to light all of a sudden and said that he would either contest from BJP or leave politics.
