How YCP Will Deal With CPS Scheme Now?

Update: 2022-11-21 10:50 GMT
The YSRCP led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy gave its best before the 2019 general elections and banks heavily on the promises. The party made tall promises and they played a big role in bringing YCP to power. The majority of the promises are being implemented in the state under the Navaratnalu schemes.

Cancellation of the contributory pension scheme (CPS) is one of the major promises YCP made before the polls. It's been three years since the party came into power and the party is yet to take a call on this.

The government employees who voted for YCP got vexed and sat for the protest. We have seen how the Chalo Vijayawada protest became a big issue and it grabbed the attention of the national media as well.

Despite all this, the Andhra Pradesh government is not ready to take a call on this.

Government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy recently said it would be good if the employees have demands that can be addressed and advised them to not be stubborn on their demands.

Now the CPS is in the news as three states Rajasthan(Congress), Chhattisgarh(Congress), and Punjab(AAP) have abolished the schemes while the same is expected to be done in Gujarat. Both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and AAP announced the same if elected to power.

Seeing the anger of the employees the governments in three states decided to abolish the system and two states are likely to do the same. This brought the focus on Andhra Pradesh to see what the ruling party does. People want to see how the Chief Minister would deal with the topic.

The other parties in these states decided to abolish the CPS scheme looking at the anger of the employees. But YSRCP has a different story as it promised to abolish the system if elected to power. This made the employees shift their vote bank to YCP as the Telugu Desam Party did not promise anything.

Moreover, Andhra Pradesh will go for the general elections in two years. If the employees' demand is not addressed it might leave a big impact on the next elections. Now it is interesting to see how the YSRCP would deal with the issue.
