Pandemic Dairies: Indians Picked Snacks Over Large Meals To Get Out Of Boredom!
The ongoing Coronavirus pandemic resulted in everything around us coming to a standstill. From day-to-day life to work culture, many things went through a massive transformation. Many behavioral changes were reported due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
A recent survey conducted on the new normal life has found out a lion share of Indian millennials has preferred having snacks to get rid of their boredom rather than going for big meals.
The survey was conducted by Mondelez International and The Harris Poll. 6,292 adults across the world have participated in the global survey, which was conducted in October.
The outcome of the survey is, in the peak period of Covid-19, Indians tried their hands in cooking and baking. During the period, Indians have snacked more compared to the normal days.
The survey has also found out that the sales of packaged snacks and beverages went down by 6.9 percent YoY during the September quarter. During the June quarter, the sales went down by more than 25 percent.
The sales of packaged snacks picked up gradually after the unlock period started in India and people started stepping out of their houses to purchase things. 81 percent of Indians are opting to continue having snacks.
