India Carried Out Third Highest Vaccinations Against Covid-19

India, which has faced the wrath of the novel Coronavirus for nearly one year has launched the massive vaccination drive against the pandemic in January. The government called the drive, world's largest drive.

In less than one month, India has successfully vaccinated more than 57 lakh healthcare and frontline workers against the Covid-19 so far. This makes India the country to have vaccinated the third-highest beneficiaries after the US and UK.

The health Ministry took to Twitter to share the news of more than 57 lakh beneficiaries getting the vaccines. So far 57,75,322 beneficiaries - 53,04,546 healthcare workers and 4,70,776 frontline workers, the Ministry said.

According to the information provided by the Union Ministry, Uttar Pradesh has vaccinated 6,73,542 beneficiaries, the highest in the country followed by Maharashtra(4,73,480) and Rajasthan(4,59,652).

The Central government has also urged the States and Union Territories to make the required measures to increase the vaccination percentage.

Coming to the fresh Coronavirus infections, 12,059 fresh infections were reported in the past 24 hours which takes the total toll of the infections to 1,08,26,363. With 78 fresh infections, Indian reported the lowest fatalities since May.
