All-in-One Emergency Number from January 1st

The single emergency number '112' will be active all over India from January 1st, 2017. This would help people receive the services of Police, Fire Department & Ambulance in emergency.

Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has already approved the proposal to have an all-in-one emergency number. Just alike the '911' all-in-one emergency service operational in USA, This '112' single emergency number we be very helpful for people in India.

People could still dial '112' even if the outgoing call facility of their SIMs or Landline Phones was stopped or suspended. Soon after making a call to 112, The Call will be directed to concerned departments for immediate assistance. Even a complaint could be registered using an SMS.

All the existing emergency numbers will be removed within one year after the launch of 112, based on the feedback received.
